No-No's




  • Do not force camera rotation along yaw. 🤢
  • Try to avoid moving the player
    • If you must, constant acceleration
  • Do not lock player orientation (e.g. during a loading screen)
  • Small Text
  • Anything that causes bad perf/dropped frames

Moving Around


  • Typically teleportation
    • Point at where you want to move
    • Screen quickly fades to black/blink animation
    • Fades out and you're at the place you pointed at
  • Avoid 'Vection'
    • Feeling that you're moving around the world
    • Design experience so that world moves around you
